Head of Trust & Corporate
Our Head of Trust & Corporate, Angus Taylor was recently interviewed by Moore Stephens London’s Family Office publication, Wealth Wise. He told them how he is keen to serve more international clients from around the world.
Angus has spent most of his career in Jersey, enjoying some 40 years on the island, interrupted only by a five-year period in London. He joined Moore Stephens Jersey in September 2015, bringing a wealth of experience in running high-performing banking, investment, fund and trust businesses. “My background is multidisciplined,” he says.
So what attracted him to Moore Stephens Jersey? “The firm was looking for a new management team to take it forward,” Angus says. “I saw this as a great opportunity to work with an existing trust and corporate business that was well placed, had a strong client base and benefited from strong connections with the Moore Stephens International network. It was clear the business has a good reputation, particularly with European families and their advisers who have accumulated wealth over several generations. So I saw it as a great opportunity to take the business to the next level.”
Angus enjoys working with clients, but most of his time is currently focused on management matters, including an office restructuring. “Aligned with that we have been in the process of reviewing and upgrading our service standards, policies and procedures across the organisation to give us the framework for delivering a consistent, high standard of service,” he says.
Looking ahead, Angus is keen to grow the Jersey firm’s client base, particularly among international families and family offices in overseas locations. The Middle East is a prime example. “It’s a geographical area that we already have good connections with through the Moore Stephens network, particularly in Dubai,” Angus says
Away from the office, Angus is a trustee of Autism Jersey. “My son – now 21 – was diagnosed with autism when he was eight,” Angus notes. Family aside, his other passion is sea kayaking: “I’ve three big expeditions planned – to Jura in the Scottish Hebrides, Baja Mexico and Greenland.”
